What is Relevelling?
Job leveling is the process of defining and classifying job responsibilities/roles, career pathways and hierarchies within an organization. It is a powerful tool that improves employee satisfaction and retention, boosts productivity, and creates clear pathways to advancement and promotion.
Business systems
The job of releveling framework or structure you use will depend on several factors, including the size and goals of your company. It should identify and establish growth pathways for every role across all established organizational levels, as well as include KPIs to measure performance at different job levels.
Leveling Methods
Optical levelling, also known as spirit levelling or differential levelling, is an optical surveying technique used to determine the height of points that are unknown relative to the base level (B.M). A precision telescope with stadia marks is mounted on a tripod, which can rotate 360 degrees in a horizontal plane.
A single sight is usually made on a rod on a point of known elevation, with the next set of sights taken on a series of rods on a route in between these points. The instrument is setup number of times to observe readings along the route and the last set is made on a station on the terminal station.
Once the staff have had their readings recorded, they are cross-checked against the original line of sight with an arithmetical reduction. If a mistake is found, it is written out legibly and the incorrect value is overwritten by the correct one.
